Our campsite at Lake Belton.

I think I have a video of this--------this blow up camper and Santa moved.
The door would open and out would come Santa.
Scared bejesus out of our little dog DiDi-----------so funny.

We meandered toward Kerrville, Texas stopping here and there.
This is a rest stop on President Lyndon Johnson's ranch.
You can boondock camp here. We didn't this time---but have in the past.

We make it to Kerrville Schreiners park campground and Loosenut and Road Dad show up.
Loosenut says----"Let's go to Luckenbach for lunch"-----------and off we go.
I know of a neat old abandoned railroad tunnel on the way and we stop to look at it.

It's a lot of staird down to the old railroad bed to see the tunnel---but well worth it.
Bats fly out of the tunnel at certain times.

Road Dad--------Jerry Mueller.
The population of this town keeps changing-------sometimes it's 2--and sometimes it's 3.
A big ole' red rooster runs the place.

This ole tressell fascinated all of us and we spent a lot of time looking it over----I was leading and
found it by accident. It is the same railroad that went thru the old tunnel. I had no idea this was here.

We ride some of the famous 3 sisters curvy road in the hill country area--------to hell with the
3 sisters-----we find a dirt road and "bump gates".

We blew into some itty bitty town and were starving------a road side stand took care of that.

The fartest we would get away from camp today was the famous slick ass "James River Crossing"
I told them I'd take them there but was not crossing it-----tried that years ago---most don't make it.
I was totally astounded at the fact that Loosenut didn't try it.
I have never ever seen him back off of anything-----------ever !!!!

Waiting for him to hit the throttle and ride across---------just didn't happen ???????

He gassed it here and spun around in a circle------how did he not fall down ??????
He's got a nut loose............!!!!

Me and Road Dad had a very bad experience at a river crossing a couple years ago and vowed to
quit doing stuff like that. Jerry took my advice not to try it.
"Were too old Jerry"

Check out these coyotes the ranchers hung on their fence.
A warning to all coyotes I suppose.

Getting back towards camp in Kerrville I took the guys to the Stonehenge reproduction
just West of town.

X-mas in Kerrville, Texas 2020

X-mas is special in the Sampson family and my wife Debi is the one making it special.
Still at the campground in Kerrville our son Marty visits us again from Austin for
more food, hiking and mountain biking.

Marty as usual has bought us all kinds of gifts.

I was getting low on hats and shirts.

It's snowing and raining outside---but were all cozy and comfy.

Another tradition for our family is taking Debi to see the X-mas lights.
We went to Fredericksburg and Johnson City, Texas for this.

Before Marty goes home we go for a big mountain bike ride on the excellent trails
in Kerrville's city park campground.
